Darknet Hitman Recruited for Bitcoin (BTC)
The case dates back to 2016. This year, Kristy Lynn Felkins sent 12 bitcoins (BTC) to the administrator of a Darknet site called “Besa Mafia”. At the time, this amount was “only” $5,000. Today 12 BTC are worth more than 360,000. She then exchanges for four months with the administrator, explaining her situation and her desire to get rid of her husband. The reasons are largely financial, according to the records used in the trial:
“I could get his pension back, our house, and maybe a hefty payout from his life insurance.»
Following payment in Bitcoin, the Besa Mafia site confirmed the dispatch of a “hitman”… But nothing happened. The site was a scam, and its administrator was able to walk away with the money. Several years later, justice caught up with Kristy Lynn Felkins: she was sentenced this week.

From prison and a “very very surprised” husband
During the trial, the defendant’s husband said to himself “very very surprisedwhen he learned of her plans to get rid of him. He also ruled that the subsequent divorce proceedings had been “cordial“, and judges that Kristy Lynn Felkins is a”excellent mother“. For her part, Kristy Lynn Felkins confirmed that she was now grateful that the site was fake, and that her husband was not killed. She was sentenced to 5 years in prison for havingfacilitated the commission of a contract killing“. She initially risked 10.
We will occasionally recall that despite what we can sometimes hear, transactions in Bitcoin (BTC) remain particularly traceable, and anonymity is not guaranteed. For its part, the Department of Justice did not specify how it had learned of the case, and the site “Besa Mafia” is now offline.
