Last March, the famous Andre Cronjea very prolific developer of the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, announced his withdrawal from the world of cryptocurrencies. Creator of the Yearn Finance protocol and heavily involved in the Fantom (FTM) blockchain ecosystem, all tokens linked to the network had begun to fall following this announcement.
That day, completely unexpectedly, Andre Cronje suddenly reappeared on Twittersharing a meme hinting that he was back.
In parallel, he also added a “.ftm” to his handle on Twitter, a direct reference to the Fantom blockchain token.
On LinkedIn, Andre Cronje also reveals that his return to the world of cryptocurrencies is well and truly recorded. He notably updated his latest experience, and would now be the “ vice president of memes at the Fantom Foundation “.

Although all this may seem rather innocuous, Andre Cronje is an emblematic figure in decentralized finance and his return could greatly help Fantom to recover.

Due to this probable return of Andre Cronje, the FTM price rose by more than 26% in just 1 hour, rising from near $0.23 to over $0.29 :

Despite this increase, the FTM remains one of the cryptocurrencies that suffered the most from the bear market that we are going through. Since its historic record of October 28, 2021 where FTM traded at $3.46the native cryptocurrency of the Fantom blockchain has lost almost 93% of its value.
